The 2.5 isn't all that much better on gas. You have to lose the weight, in other words, go with a car having the same amount of power. You will get much better gas milage and a lower weight to horsepower ratio.

I know there's a big difference in mpg I had a 91 with the 2.5 and got 25mpg. My 92 3.9 gets @16mpg. It's a big enough difference with gas being shitty to make me wish I had the wussy 2.5 again

Sounds like a bad 3.9. My 5.2 is getting 18 and many 3.9 owners are getting over 20. Was the 3.9 in a 4x4?
