First car was a 94 probe gt. Car was tough as nails contrary to belief and I finally grenaded it missing a downshift and pegging the rev limiter for a second....

The 2.5l klde is limited to 7200rpm stock and the missed shift engine braked it to well past that around 10k and developed a tick. Drove it for another few thousand miles and the valves went on it. When I over revved it, I actually cracked a valve retainer and replaced it but the other valves likely dropped after a long ass time lol I just didnt want to pull the heads and rebuild since a motor swap was even cheaper in the long run, never did see what happened inside though I sold it off to be rebuilt

It hauled ass for what it was and really taught me how to drive. Spanked civics and tegs like nobodys business and for a damn good price too. I bought the car used in MINT condition w/ 64k mi. for $2800, so ya I got my moneys worth

lol I owned 4 of those...

Occasionally I miss it. The sound, pretty at to look at. Just the feel. But my speed 3 is better in every conceivable way.

The 3 could never reach the beautiful sound these 2.5's make. Dont get me wrong the speed 3 is awesome but something about that klde is magic, the motor is phenomenal in fun and noise report!

Probes are cheap fun and easy builds If I had it my way, I would have kept that car and had a truck and a turbo PGT. I am yet to be of legal drinking age so multiple vehicles is not realistic, not to mention a built turboed vehicle :funny:

Mine was a 1977 Thunderbird with a 351M, velour seats, big steering wheel , big bumpers, real air conditioning that could freeze the balls off a brass monkey,Quadrasonic Tape Player(8-Track for you kids) power windows, power locks and lets not forget the state of the art power steering and power brakes. Yep, got a whopping 13 miles to the gallon in that thing, and that was highway miles, God only knows what I got for city/stop & go driving. So when I see that I'm getting 16 or 17 MPG in my Durango, I'm estatic, compared to what I used to get in my first car!!!!

1972 Dodge Demon 340 4 speed...Hemi Orange, black stripes...got it my Junior year of hi-school...restored it in the late '80's, drove from the West coast to the East coast in her, been to the Mopar nationals twice with it, Drag raced her, been on the flats of Bonneville, lap time at Laguna Seca, Auto Crossed...heck-even mastered doing a clutch swap solo in less than 90 minutes...the only thing I couldn't do with her is SELL HER! Yep...still got her-she's showing her age, but wears our battle scars well! She keeps company with the 2011 Challenger, 2007 Magnum SRT8 and of course the latest addition, '89 Dakota convertible!
