Hi Folks,

Welcome to Keisler Engineering's vendor forum. First, let me introduce ourselves. Shafi Keisler, owner and founder, started Keisler Engineering in 1991 as a specialty aftermarket parts and services company for Dodge and Plymouth muscle cars of the 1960s-70s. In the late 90s, Shafi expanded the business into overdrive transmissions because he wanted a modern stick (manual) transmission in his classic cars. This lead to development of the "Keisler PerfectFit Kit" - a custom engineered transmission designed to fit a specific car or truck grouped with all of the accessories to make it a complete conversion. Over the years since then, Shafi's business has led the aftermarket for performance manual transmission swap kit, selling to thousands of customers each year.

From 2002-2005, Keisler Engineering sold Keisler PerfectFit Tremec TKO 5-speed kits for Dakota, both gen 2 & gen 3, including 5.9L, 5.2L, 4.7L 2WD variants. Just a few PerfectFit T56 6-speed kits were released to market in 2003 and 2004. The transmission program for Dakotas was suspended from 2005-onwards, until the summer of 2008, when Shafi announced a Commemorative Edition 6-Speed Kit - the R/T56 - would be released for just 10 buyers, celebrating the 10th Year Anniversary of the Dakota R/T.

All Dakota R/T56 6-Speed kits quickly sold out, and were shipped from Oct-Dec of 2008. Shafi's truck has kit #1, and below are pics of the truck with the kit installed.

Shafi bought his 1998 Dakota R/T brand new in the summer of 1998, just after returning from the Mopar Nationals in August. An extended cab, Amethyst well equipped truck, he drove it for 9 years before undertaking a light restoration with a Pro-Touring twist. It made its debut in August of 2008 at the Mopar Nationals, with the R/T56 6-speed kit.

NOTE: We have discontinued production of the product as of Oct 2009.

Best Regards,

Shafi Keisler, Founder & Pres.
