So your ok with re-drilled and plugged on the rear but not for the front?
No im not. . . But front hubs are cast. . . Someone said 05 dakota axles would work ? Anyone know for sure?

Why are you still convinced the front hubs are cast? They are steel, the only thing in the front suspension that is cast are the steering knuckles/spindles.

What exactly is your position at "monzters motorsports"?

The guys who do 5-lug swaps on these trucks use 01' Ram front hubs and 05' dakota axle shafts. This just works on 4x4s, since the front hubs are bolt on type to the spindle, not center lock.

Hub on left is a factory cast piece. One on right is billet steel

It seems we are talking about two different things, and the confusion is my fault.... in my line of work when you say cast it means cast iron. How a piece is formed is irrelevant in the shop, the only thing that is important is what the material is.

I asked what you do because I didn't know, you could easily be the shop boy sweeping the floor and taking credit for other peoples labour and engineering.

Sorry for the confusion

Same here.

Nice. Looks good man! How much u thinkin? Still gotta give u a call about the cts-v brakes. Been so damn busy though
Any pricing yet? I just purchased a Yukon Dura Grip LS for my 2000 DAK SLT Quad Cab 2WD 5.9 and I think I'll hold up install untill the 6 to 5 lug conversion is figured out. After reviewing the posts on this thread it seems that for the rear re-drilling your axles ($120 shipped from moser) with factory drums for a 5 lug dakota (87-90)(see posts on "6 lug to 5 conversion" thread) would be the most cost effective. I found a pair of 5 lug Yukon rear axles for $327.50 (http://www.ringpinion.com/b2c/Cart.aspx). For the front it looks like the rotors can be welded & re-drilled and maybe the hubs too or buy new hubs from you.
Did I miss something?? Doesn't the welding for re-drill alter material properties and/or dimensional stability?

these are $300 plus ship and paypal.

we just redrill the rotors like these on the stage 2 kit

moser installs plugs in the 6 holes.. tacks em and redrills. i have pics of the way they do it. can post later... id feel better with new stuff but which ever you want should be fine.

as far as welding and altering material strength should be ok if you control heat when welding...

you sir, are brilliant.. not to mention a figurative savior

I'd like to also ask about the rears, as I read in your other thread that you were considering a drum for rotor swap... any progressional thoughts on that? (don't sweat the Don King vocab lol)

Great work Brandon and if I do convert I will definitely be getting in touch about these. Now that the fronts are figured out, has there been a for sure on the rear axles? I have seen posts saying 5-lug '05 Dak, '06 Dak as well as '06 Ram 1500 axles as being an equal tradeout for the Dakota rear axles but nobody stating for sure what actually works.

I am wanting to convert a 2001 Dakota Quadcab to 5 lug.

Damn, that's a hard decision there. I like those 22's, especially on that Charger wagon in the thumbnail pics below the main pic; that is a sweet ride. Makes me wanna get rid of my Dakota for one of them.

Well, you not only have New and Used but you also have a $200 difference. That decision is all on you but rest assured that no matter which you decide on, they will look good.
Those are some gorgeous hubs. If i had a set of 5 lug wheels i liked better then the factory R/T wheels or the viper wheels i want id swap over.
Hello, does anyone know if BrandonBurns85 is still making the 5 lug conversion hubs?
Thanks
still making them?

sorry to dig up an old thread but i was wondering BrandonBurns do you still make these adapters? i have a 99 4x4 id like to do the conversion on if at all possible. Thanks in advance! oh, and this is my first post on here as well!
