Was trying to find a miss on 2003 dodge dourango 4.7 by disconnecting the fuel injectors one at a time with engine running. No problems with 1,5,7,2,8 but when I disconnected 3,4,6 the engine started to ping loudly to the point that I thought I would do damage. My question is the cylinders that were pinging when disconnected, would be caused by leaking fuel injectors allowing a small amount of fuel into the cylinders and causing a lean mixture that would cause pinging or am I way out in left field with this thought process. Thanks in advance ! any suggestions or recommendations appreciated.
