If you have a 42re or 46re with 3.9l,5.2l,or 5.9l engine, the range sensor is located
on the driver side just behind where the shift cable hooks up to the transmission.
If you have 4.7l engine the transmission is a 45rfe and sensor is internal as part
of the valve body.
