ok so when i found out that there are no hooks for a 2k-04 dak i got bummed. But i got the idea from kotakid287 to put f-150 tow hooks on it so i went out and baught a pair and as far as i can tell from just holding them up behind the bumper the'll fit with a ittle trimming of the holes in the bumper. I'll post pics as soon as i get them in which could be a couple days cuz its snowing here. :mullet:

ok so i went out and took some measurments and it looks like im going to have to trim about a half inch around the holes in the bumper and im going to need a 1/4 spacer on top of the hooks to bring them down and im going to have to figure something out with my fog light wire

Im interested to see what you come up with. This summer I will probbly just get the front hitch because it ties the frame together. Im still open to ideas, I dont really want to lose any approach angle, not that the hitch takes up alot, but I have gotten hung up on the rear so....
you wont lose any approach angle cuz the hooks stick out above the bottem of the bumper. and they neen to come down about a 1/4 inch so you could get a piece of steel that goes across the frame rails. and you would have to ask canyonD about the approch on the hitch cuz he runs one

i started mocking things up and i'm not sure how safe its going to be becouse it looks like im going to have to put like 2" of spacers on top of the hooks to bring them down low enough and on top of that im going to have to hack up the holes in my front valence and on top of that there not even going to stick out that far so at this point i keep going back and forth on the whole idea :forehead:

i think im going to buy a front hitch cut the hitch off it and bolt a plate to the top of the bar that its connected to. to get the hooks of like an s10 so they stick out of the valence and i dont have to cut it up

i've been thinking about the hooks they made for the older daks. and the front hitch idea. and i was thinking about two brakets that bolt to the sides of the frame that came down like 3" just above where the holes in the bumper are and then a a like 4" wide 1/4" steel plat that went across and then like two pieces that went back off that to the front crossmember. and bolting like the hooks off the older rams or GM's to that so they stick out the holes in the valence

thats kinda the idea i had. okay so i talked to a buddy of mine whose a welder and i'm gunna get all the measure ments together for him tomorrow and give them to him monday. and i friend of mine who worked at a junk yard over the summer gave me the tow hooks off an old full size chevy and they fit thru the holes already in the valence. so this should be done by next weekend. dont quote me on that

OMG!!! i've figured it the perfect tow hooks for our trucks!!!

ok so the f150 hooks i have when bolted up stop just above and behind the hole in the valence so... im gunna have 1/4 steel welded to the bottom of the f150 hooks then drill holes in it and bolt the GM tow hooks i have to that! i just went out side and mocked it up it looks perfect

dont worry i will. im gunna talk to my buddy tomarrow at school... he's the one that talked me out of the brakets i designed becouse he said they would just tear at the bolts in the bumper and this is like 10 times easier

:waiting:

i need something easier than my rear hitch for next winter when i drive around and pull people out of ditches lol
you have a body lift do you not. the f150 hooks would bolt to your frame and come out under the bumper and if you want to use GM style hooks weld in some 1/4" steel plate in the gap in the front frame and bolt them to it
