ok so when i found out that there are no hooks for a 2k-04 dak i got bummed. But i got the idea from kotakid287 to put f-150 tow hooks on it so i went out and baught a pair and as far as i can tell from just holding them up behind the bumper the'll fit with a ittle trimming of the holes in the bumper. I'll post pics as soon as i get them in which could be a couple days cuz its snowing here. :mullet:

Ya, I would like to put some tow hooks in the front of my truck, some other people on here have posted up there ideas but I haven't really liked any of them. I wold like to see what urs are like. tow hooks for the rear are easy, I have 2 tow hooks off of a grand cherokee that I am going to either weld or just bolt(if there is room) onto my hitch.
my hooks are off a 2002 f-150 got em on ebay for $22 and i really hope this works and will solve a big problem un gen 3 guys have
really no one else has anything to say about this i thought this would be a hot topic since so many people have asked what they can do for tow hooks in the front.
Ya i would love to have tow hooks on the front, but with my brush guard i cant because the brackets for the brush guard cover up where the tow hooks go.
well then i cant help becouse it seems that even with truck that do come with tow hooks they have to be removed for a brush guard
Any new progress?
not yet. got just under 10 inches of snow here on friday. and my moms car dose'nt come out of the garage when thares salt on the roads. gunna try to get it done tomarrow have a buddy whos gunna help me has a huge place to work in
Cant wait to see pics. Im very interested in seeing these installed
That snow shouldn't stop you. We got about 28 inches over fridy night and all day saturday I was out in my truck playing in the snow. I was ne of the only ones driving around. I was suprised at how good my truck went through the snow. And the snow was up the bottom of my door when I drove through my yard and some parking lots in town.
the snows not whats stoping me i like going out and drifting around town as much as the next guy i just cant use my garage to work cuz my moms car
ok so i went out and took some measurments and it looks like im going to have to trim about a half inch around the holes in the bumper and im going to need a 1/4 spacer on top of the hooks to bring them down and im going to have to figure something out with my fog light wire
Im interested to see what you come up with. This summer I will probbly just get the front hitch because it ties the frame together. Im still open to ideas, I dont really want to lose any approach angle, not that the hitch takes up alot, but I have gotten hung up on the rear so....

buy a bumper and built a hitch into it or similar. or tow hooks work too.

you wont lose any approach angle cuz the hooks stick out above the bottem of the bumper. and they neen to come down about a 1/4 inch so you could get a piece of steel that goes across the frame rails. and you would have to ask canyonD about the approch on the hitch cuz he runs one

i like my chrome bumpers to much lol.

Stainless steel? lol.
i started mocking things up and i'm not sure how safe its going to be becouse it looks like im going to have to put like 2" of spacers on top of the hooks to bring them down low enough and on top of that im going to have to hack up the holes in my front valence and on top of that there not even going to stick out that far so at this point i keep going back and forth on the whole idea :forehead:
i think im going to buy a front hitch cut the hitch off it and bolt a plate to the top of the bar that its connected to. to get the hooks of like an s10 so they stick out of the valence and i dont have to cut it up
