I am trying to find a way to delete my torsion bars and replace them with coilover shocks in the front suspension.

Anyone ever try this or have suggestions?

My Dakota is a 2000 quad cab, 4x4 with a 4.7.

Thanks for advice and suggestions

Coil over shocks are to be a heavier duty shock. The coil on the shock
will not take the place of your torsion bars. They were never designed
to replace the torsion bars. There is no way to mount coil springs on
this 4x4 front end. The torsion bars can be adjusted for a softer or a
stiffer ride though

Good luck, Daddyododge1

No, you're thinking of assist springs that go over the shocks. The OP is wanting something like QA1 offers that replaces the coil or leaf springs.

Unless your prepared for a whole re-engineering of your front end don‘t bother. other options would be go to junk yard get a newer rolling frame from a later model Dakota and weld the cab mounts where they need to be. But I don’t know how much would graph from old frame to new probably need the rest of the front end diff and a custom shaft to remarry the power.

Maybe Ram truck frame? (take the width out)

buy a 2 wheel and ditch the 4 wheel?

My trucks 1 wheel drive.
Don’t know why you can call it two wheel drive with out a posi/lsd unit.
