i was just wondering if anyone else has done this to there throttle body.. grind the top of the bores off where they come up out of the bore about a half and inch to the flat top on the throttle body? I did and i can tell a little difference in the acceleration...its a v-8 throttle body on a v-6

That's nice work but it's also a good way to kill your lowend which is exactly what daksport35 didn't want to do. You can get some of the lowend back by reducing the volume of the manifold. Check out Hughesengines.com for some pictures.

So if I want to bore out my intake manifold to 50mm to match my throttle body it would be a bad idea? I thought that if I got rid of the air restriction in the manifold that would free up some more power.

just open up the tb ports, and smooth all the hard edges down. the heads are what really need the work anyways.
