I did some digging to find out why Robertshaw thermostats were disappearing off of the shelves...

Ivensys sold the Robertshaw automotive products line to Cooper Tire. Cooper Tire sold their automotive products line to Cooper Standard. Cooper Standard is a subdivision of Prestone, which is how the thermostats are now marketed. Apparently the advertising and distribution of Prestone thermostats is relatively new, and may not have hit all markets. Initial indications point to Wal-Mart as a major distributor. Other people have reported Checker/Kragen as another source.

Part #'s for 97-04 Dakotas, 2.5L, 3.9L, 5.2L, 5.9L motors - I believe they also work for 4.7L V8 motors.

"Regular" thermostat - 355-180
"Generation II" thermostat (previous Robertshaw model): 755-180
"Generation II Extended Life" thermostat (adds a pressure-sensitive washer which helps force them open) - 779-180
