Anyone in the clod climates experience the in cab blower motor sticking, not blowing? Must be on cold moist days the blower motor ices up, and won't blow on any speed setting. Then, when it finally warms up enough in the cab from the sun or the temp going up, it blows fine again.

Everything else works fine. Is the blower motor at least somewhat "reachable" that I could get in there to douse to lubricate the fan shaft with WD40 (water repellant/lubricant). I'm hopeful that I can do that just enough to get the fan to blow reliably again until this summer when I can tear into it. Then I'll probably do the heater core and all that nasty sorta teardown.

Is it the stock unit? It may just need replacing. I just recently had to replace the blower motor and resister. Everything works, but this new blower is much noisier than the stock one. I got it at O'Reilly's.

yeah i'd suggest replacing the motor and the resistor it they are pretty easy to get to under the passenger side of the dash.

it may be easy to see but doing the work under the dash is PIA, especially the resistor. My replacement is also nosier than the stock one. The noise really pisses me off

Replace the blower motor resistor 1st. It's cheap $15-$20 depending on where you go for the part. It only took me 10 minutes to remove the 2 screws, pop the resistor free, then replace it.

Last July I had the blower stop working during 1 of my errand runs, had I known how easy it was to replace the resistor I wouldn't have waited a month to fix it.

Replaced the resistance pack and the blower motor fired right up. The 2nd pin in the original pack was visibly burned like it got hot. I bought the replacement part at AutoZone for $25.
