Bottom line is... Accidents will happen just because they are well.. Accidents. They're not intended.. but just happen... Going the speed limit and driving like you're supposed to is far more safe than racing in traffic or some back road where a little kid is riding his bike and gets killed by a car racing another. So don't bring up the "people die every day going the speed limit" thing because that is completely different. However, street racing on the other hand can raise the risk or causing accident to the drivers and everybody else around. No matter what you all say, street racing is wrong. As I was told in school "Your fun ends where everyone elses begins." Why is it so hard to just obey the laws that keep us safe and civilized?

i agree with you and try not to race or goof around myself
Most people are like this... I wont lie to you.. I was young and dumb at one time and have street raced before. I'll be the first to tell you, it was stupid of me and if I could take it back I would... So I just don't do it anymore.

But I don't feel it's fair to look down upon someone because they are taking the risk and causing risk to someone else because you are doing the same thing everday when you turn your ignition...just not at the same level as a street racer.
I think it's prefectly fair to look down on someone who is street racing... they are only making the already dangerous roads even more unsafe. Like I said before though, accidents are accidents and they aren't ment to happen. If everybody was a perfect driver and followed all the road signs then there would never be problems... But people will never be perfect drivers so accidents will happen. But for comparing following what the road signs say to street racing and both having potential to take lives... which do you think would be more likely to kill.. the person driving like he/she should or the person that is driving as fast as possible with really no care for anything or anyone around them?

So just because a street racer is taking more risk then what our government says to take makes him a bad person?
Not a bad person.. but it does make them an inconsiderate moron. At one time.. I and probably most people probably have fell under that catagory (as much as I hate to say that)

Our nation was founded on rebellions who took unneccesary risks against laws put on them by a higher power and look where we are today
But making it ok to street race isn't going to make the roads safer at all and I assure you that more people/property would be killed/damaged if it was infact ok to street race.

just because someone disagrees with a law or choose not to obey a law does not make them a bad person. they may face certain consequences (especially if they are caught)..but I refuse to believe just because a person is choosing to disobey a law it makes it ok to talk sh*t about them.
This law is set in the best interest of everyone. I understand that you really can die at any time from just about any thing. I'm not even bashing you like I was that other guy from the first thread you're going off of. But doing anything that could increase the chance of taking anothers life is just wrong.

"what is right and what is wrong is in the eye of the beholder"
You know, I went to school with a kid that flipped his car about 5 times and hit a pole doing about 120. At the time right before he lost controll I'm sure he didn't think he was doing anything wrong. But right as he started to flip over lets say he could put his life on pause and let him think about whats happening. Do you think he would think it's right that he is going to lose his life within a matter of seconds? Do you think he would think it's right that he will never get to see or say good bye to his loving family and friends? Do you think he would have drove home the way he should have been and got to live another day? See where I'm going with this? It is really a sad way to go.. especially at the age the guy was.

at the same time without laws there would be chaos and confusion, and I understand this, it's a catch 22 ...but I don't feel I can judge someone who is street racing and tell them what they are doing is wrong and they are bad...i feel they deserve the same respect I would like to be treated with.
Anybody who goes about having a good time by putting others life in danger (or more danger than it should be) doesn't quite desirve respect in my opinion.

All I'm saying is that it is not hard to follow the laws.. I know most of us have street raced and I'm not proud of that.. But it is much better to just drive on the streets like you should and if you really need to race that bad then take it to the track!!
