I was changing my 16 spark plugs and ran into this

It’s like a blob of concrete and won’t scrape away. All the other tubes are clean and clear except this one.

Could it be aluminum corrosion or possibly melted aluminum? I can’t get my socket In with this obstruction. Anyone know what to do in this situation?

If it's melted aluminum, you have bigger problems than spark plugs.

Well good news, it’s not melted aluminum, it was just road salt buildup. It was like calcium. But just on the one plug. There’s a rip in the plug boot that let salt and calcium into the tube. I managed to get a small screwdriver in there and give it a whack with a hammer and the stuff broke free in one piece and I just grabbed it with my fingers and pulled it out revealing a nice shiny tube with some debris at the bottom. Nice. Moving on.

But disaster struck while I was on my last plug.
