Source for blower pistons

For my 5.2 based stroker, I need some blower pistons to give me about 8:1 compression. I don't have the motor apart so I don't know the bore size and I am assuming stock rod lengths.

Where is a good source to get these? I want a piston with the thickest top and the top ring land as far down as possible.

why so low of compression? Just contact anybody for custom dishes.
Or you can check summit.
Hughes has some that will give 8.6:1 which I will take a closer look at once I pull my motor apart to see the actual specs of it.

I want to run lots of boost on pump gas (15 psi) and just to be safe...

I was seeing 14psi with 9.3 compression and pump gas. 8:1 will be a dog until you get into lots of boost. You have a centrifigual sc so you need the compression till you get into some decent boost. There are no issues with higher compression as long as you have a good tune

I was told the same thing about mine being low compression (and about running stock heads/cam)... Now mines no beast but its definitely no dog either. Maybe I just got lucky.

im sure you would see a difference if you had higher compression pistons.

Oh yea, I have no doubt. Just saying.

Mine is by no means a dog with 8:1. On the street it is very powerful with 1/2 throttle. Full throttle is non existent on the street.

whys that lol?
Traction is an issue. And I don't feel like buying 300 tires all the time.
ok maybe dog was the wrong term but the idea behind low compression pistons in boosted aplicatons is starting to change. Twin screw or roots style blowers are a different situation.

especially if you have aluminum heads since they decrease the chances of detonation.

True, I don't mind the extra safety margin. I will give up a few HP for that.

Its all in the tune. Chris got mine done in no time once the little bugs were worked out. Only took him about an hour to get my meth tune done and not much more for my tune without meth. Its sweet to have a good tuner that less than 2 hours away.

True, did pretty good job with mine and Amber. Only took about an hour to get Amber done.
This is for the 94, not my 2000.

I will be using a 76 mm turbo and I think I will go with some 8.6:1 blower pistons Hughes Engine sells.
who makes the hughes pistons?
I've got Ross pistons that are 8.2-1

Fast360: Where did you get them and what is the price and part number?

Is your build done yet? If so, how does it run? If you could do it again, would you run closer to 9-9.5:1 compression?
