well now im not happy camper last nite i was drivin home and a dakota r/t kept on revvin his engine at me so finally we gave it a go i kept with him for about one second and he started pulling ahead to about one car length and then we got stopped at the light and he did a burn out and flicked me off and took off into the night...so now im mad and my goal is by next summer to beat a r/t dakota so give me some tips for perfomance mods thats not to expensive but gives a lot for the bucks :help:

do ya remember what color the R/t was? i know of one or two R/T owners up that way that fit that description.

as far as beating a R/T witha `rango.... if ya gots a lil 4.7 you will need some type of power adder (blower, spray or both) if ya gots a 5.9 `Rango it will be a little easier, all the bolt ones we use will work just as well, and AWD helps on launch.

Well with the weight of our vehicles we are at a serious disadvantage, even with mods. The problem is if you run across another one, if he has mods you're in trouble still. A blower or nitrous will definitely help, but that's why you have to choose your battles wisely

What a dickhead....when a guy in a CC black 2002 R/T gave me the go to hell look because I wanted to run him on this street in the country I revved it at him and he took off, needless to say he must have been stock............because he got OWND!!! :banana2: Some drivers are like that and think they are king but there is always someone better and faster no matter what.

i have met about 20 rt owners that acted like that and have said similar stuff. duno why they say shit like that. i guess them having a low 15 sec truck in stock form means they own the street.... :jester:

Yeah I have met several people that own R/T's and they think they own the world. A lot of people associate R/T owners with being an asshole. I have met some great people that own them as well. You'll always have that average kid that thinks he's invinicble and doesn't know a damn thing about decency :biggthump

I think my r/t is slow personally, mid 15s (if I can even do that) is not fast. heck imo anything higher than mid 13s is slow today, and soon mid 13s will be slow as well. If I wanted a truck that could be considered "fast" stock I'd have got a lightning, but there are other things more important than pure speed to me, especially for a vehicle you have to live with (maybe gas mileage should have been on my list initially and I'd have got a 4.7 lol). I wave to other dakotas/durangos if they're looking my way, usually get a wave or nod back. I don't get those guys who have their heads in the air...i mean what's the point. So far seen two r/ts on the road, both gave the nod/thumbs up...i dunno maybe it's r/t owners in other parts of the country lol. :jester:

oh yeah tip one to be faster, lose those massive 22s...ouch man that's alot of mass there.

It just goes to shoq you that thier is an asshole every where you go. I just wish they had stickers that they were required by law to wear. A sticker that said somthing along the lines of " I am an asshole, Do not attempt to speak or interact with me" At least then, I would know upon meeting an asshole, just what he/she is and choose whether or not I want to be pissed off. It was probably a real young guy trying to impress his friends or girl buddy. I am not saying that all young guys with quick vehicles are assholes. But the majority of them mess it up for the good guys. You want to get back at that guy for smoking you, then just burn down his house. That always works for me. :joke: About the Lightning comment. A guy from my unit recently bought one from auto trader, got a sweet deal too. BUt check it out he is afraid to race me because he apprently thinks I have a super fast truck, and doesn't want to risk "having his ass handed to him by an SUV". I am not going to tell him that I know he would blow my doors off, and if he ever does decide to step up , I wll only let him race me down muddy ass road. :jester:

Whats funny as hell is that I have a friend with a 02' RC 4.7L 5spd. 3.92/track-lok and headers and full exhaust trim and he beats stock R/Ts everytime he engages one and then he met me and said I was the first dakota to hang with him/barely beat him and I wasnt an R/T. Ever since then we have been pretty good friends. I do know another 3 R/T guys here where I live and they are cool as hell, very nice folks and one one of them are into racing and the others just like their truck for what it is and thats all. :biggthump
