Heres my basic build thread from alld**otas.com figured I would fost it here to to see what you guys thought!
this whole project got started because:
1 i did not want to tear apart my 04 with 53,000 miles
2 i needed a beater truck
3 my friend with a v6 mustang thinks all trucks are slow.

first i bought the donor vehicle a 99' durango slt 5.9 loaded with options. for $300 it had been sitting for 2 years since the crash but it had a new tranny and only 140k on the motor so i thought it was a solid starting point.

then i bought a 97 dakota rc sport with a brand new 3.9 v6 but the tranny was going out the body is straight but the paint needs work. i picked it up for $900

Im having a bunch of powder coating done, what color/color code is your accessory/power steering bracket? some kind of gun metal? or silver with clear shot over it?

if i remember correctly its this:

its been a while since i ordered that color i'm actually thinking the container said bonded black chrome i didn't have to use a clear its just a single stage color!

This. Is. Awesome. Nicely done! Glad to see you didn't give up and got it done! Gives me an idea for my Dakota R/T build I wanna do. Get a loaded SLT+ Durango and rob goodies. I have heard that the 5.9 in the Ram Vans was built slightly different in the block maybe, and this makes it stronger??? :huh::huh::huh: I can't remember, so maybe I'm full of crap.

You have details on the e fan? I have a factory 318 in my truck and need to ditch the clutch fan.

it should be a 91-95 taurus 3.8 v6 2 speed fan!

i have a 2 way switch that i fed with 12v key on run and acc so i can run the fan at the track with the truck off. one position for low one for high middle is off for winter time i use this to trigger a relay for low and a separate relay for high. no fan controllers or that jaz. i recomend using 40A relays this fan pulls some amps! on start up. my megasquirt box has a fan control in it i might eventually try using it! if you need i can draw a diagram for you

That would be great. I'm not so big on the wiring. Mounting the fan and such won't be a problem.

Here's a general wiring diagram I made for the e-fan if it helps.

Well crap, if A/C line doesn't fit, I guess you'll just have to put the V6 back in.. :funny: :jester:

same I work in a few hours but have been hooked on the this forum reading every detail..... pls post more.... I just got a 318 1998 dakota looking forward to modding the hell out of it.... thanks for the drive you have given me!!!

Hey guys sorry I have been trying for over an hour on photo bucket to upload some photos and gave up. Anyways the truck now has a t56 4.56 gears ls coil packs, ls single throttlebody. I have destroyed the lsd for a second time.

On the dyno it put down 310hp 329ftlbs

best et 13.65 at 100.5

Overall fun truck if someone wants to recomend an upload site I'll try to post some more.
