Has anyone with LT headers and the B&M shifter had any issues with melting the outer jacket? This is my third one installed and its melted again. The coated headers are probably 3" from the cable, thats routed as tight as possible to the transmission. Not sure how I can remedy this problem. header wrap on the cable? Have someone fab up a heat shield?

Its the red cable, probably standard. I just hate screwing with it cause the fk'n headers make adjusting the shifter and cotter key placement almost impossible.

most went with the hd cable when exhaust heat was a concern, or you can put it back to stock and sell me the shifter
Grr apparently what I typed didn't go through. B&M shows three cables: Performance, Superduty, Unimatic. I want to say I think I have the super duty on. But it's red just like the performance one. Only difference I see is the outer jacket thickness which isn't much.
