So is there a good place to put a hole in the firewall? Or, is there an existing spot to run a couple wires through. Haven't had a chance to look, but I figured someone here knows!

when i wired for my amp, i could get the power wire to go through on the driverside, there is a gromet where a bundle of wires go through the fire wall. its just to the right of the brake booster.

On my truck, on the passenger side there was a empty rubber groumet that i used.

i dont know about the Gen IIIs, but i know on mine there are several place. I can actually go through the fenders if i wanted to. Thats what i did anyway when i still had a system in my truck. Cutting a hole would not be a problem. You just have to make sure that u can even get to it from the inside.

Gen III's have two pass-throughs, one on the driver's side and one on the passenger side, they are each located a few inches below the wiper cowl shelf.

FWIW I ran my wires over to the pass. side fender, then followed the antenna wire through the door jam and into the pass. side kick panel.

i ran my amp power cable (5gauge) & powergate tailgate lock wire thru the main harness grommet like stated above. real easy to pop it off and stuff the wires on through (little patience needed). viper installer decided to poke a hole in it to wire the siren :rant:

I did that as well. There is 1 on the drivers and passengers side

Thanks for the replys guys! :biggthump Haven't had a chance to look since it's been too cold, plus it's dark when I get home from work, Hopefully it doesn't rain all weekend so I can get out there and get this done!

Also what can help is if you attach the end of your speaker wire to a foot long piece of coat hanger. It makes pushing the wire through, and finding the ends of the wire tons easier!
