99 dakota club cab with infinity sound system
Amp previously bypassed and scrapped when I replaced the rear speakers.
I have the Tweeters in the doors from the factory.

I bought a component speakers set that comes with separate crossovers for each door.
Being that I already have Tweeters, should I wire in the crossovers that came with the new speakers?
I'm not using an amp besides what is included within my new kenwood HU. (Well new to this truck, probably 5-6 years old, it used to be in my wrangler before I sold it)
I've wires in stereo systems into cars that never had component speakers before and there was basically no question about using the crossovers that came with the new speakers, since there never was any in that case.
Is there a factory crossover somewhere within the truck, that I haven't yet come across?

I'd use the new crossover and skip the old Infinity amp. Just wire the feed from the radio to the crossover, and from the crossover to the new speakers.

I'd bypassed the stock amp, back when I replaced the rear speakers because of the difference in ohm rating between the Infinitys and everything else I could find (brand) , having followed instructions in a thread from here. Infinity are 2 ohm everyone else is 4 ohm.
I used 2 Subaru radio plug adapters as the instructions in another thread here in the archives said to do, made a "jumper" to plug into the 2 plugs that I had pulled out of the amp.
I guess I was asking in a roundabout way if there were crossovers already wired in somewhere on the truck that I just have not yet found. I didn't think there was a need for redundant crossovers.
that's why I needed to know if I should use the new ones that came with the speakers.
I plan to use the original wires already in the door as much as possible..... aint going crazy with additional subs or amps, not like I'm running 2/0 cable anywhere to run this thing.....

I have an 85 Dodge truck (was new the year I graduated high school) with a Slant 6 under the hood, no electronics, and (at the moment) an AM radio that I will be upgrading next, on that one I will be starting from scratch in wiring up a newer radio, which to me seems easier than having to modify a system already in place. Mostly cuz I know what I am starting with.... (nothing!)

ok they are in, just gotta wait for NAPA to get some door latch rod-to-inside door handle clips in.
I dunno how any sound was coming out of the originals, there was 3/8" gap all the way around outer perimeter where speaker cone used to attach to outer frame.
I ended up taking a Dremel and cutting the web struts that hold the magnet to the outer speaker frames and screwing my replacements to that, then screwing the original frames back into door just like OE. then took tweeter grilles out of door panel and cutting the slats out of it, just leaving the outer ring that snaps into door panel, my tweeters fit into what was left perfectly, and was able to snap them into door panels just like original. I set the crossovers just forward and above the "big" speaker mounting hole, marked hole spacing to tweeter boxes and mounted crossovers to inside of doors so no interference when reinstalling door panels. I used Cerwin vega component 6-1/2" speakers in doors. the only disappointment was that as thin as the wire gauge size in the truck's original harness is, the wire that came with the speakers was thinner yet....if I could find spade terminals that skinny as the new speakers take, I'd have thrown away the included wiring and put in my own.
I would not want anything crazy fat, but the original wiring is 18 ga and the new speaker wire is 20-22 ga.

The wiring from the head unit went to the crossovers, I used the wiring included with the new speakers from those to the crossovers

So the new, included wiring doesn't leave the doors

I went a different direction for my blown up mid base door speakers. The infinity system in my 01 dakota C/C is one of the best sound systems I have ever had in a truck. Now, I was able to find an OEM pair but at $99/ea. NO Thanks. Instead I called the good folks at "Simply Speakers" and ordered 2 re-foam kits and re-foamed all 4 mid bass speakers. EXCELLENT Results... for less than 40 bucks and about 3
hours total of easy labor.
