The rear door speakers stopped working. The front work fine as does everything else.

Are there simple things I can check to repair this? I don't want to take off the dash and replace the radio/cassette player.

I vaguely remember that I turned the balance all the way to the rear speakers once when the music was up loud but they were working before I turned off the radio and then the engine. Could that have caused the problem?

Thanks.

You most likely blew them out. The stock speakers are shit to begin with.. Couple that with 15 years of dry rot and use, and they go poof.

If you're not going to upgrade the head unit any time soon, just go get yourself a pair of cheap low-watt Pyles from Walmart. They'll sound better than the stockers ever did.

Durango speakers sound great for being oem them piles will blow and sould like crazy with in a weak and they don't put out there are plenty of good door speakers for around 200 for a set of 4 but best thing to do is find a junk yard somewhere and grab some if they don't work well go back and grab more
