I just weighed my truck at the local scales and it weighed in at 3760, that is with an amp, sub and enclosure, full tank of gas, full size spare, and with out me in it. I am curious how far some people go to lighten there trucks, so who has tried to put there truck on a diet and what does it weigh.

Crap, mine weighed 4250 with me in it. Fiberglass bed cover, full spare, full gas.

I plan on moving to a roll pan, lighter wheels, remove spare (race days), remove bed cover (race days). That should free up a couple hundred pounds? Bumper 40#? Bed Cover 100#? Not sure about wheels, but shooting for 20# less per wheel.

I know RTMods.com also has a lighter front bumper, but I don't think I will get it.

I haven't weighed mine lately at the local truck scales. The last time was around 4000 with the Snugtop (about 150 lbs) and some cargo. The spec on my truck empty with the 16" wheels was 3759.
A few things I've gleened over the years:
4.7 weighs 50 pounds less than the 5.2/5.9 engine
9.25 rear end weighs 75 pounds more than the 8.25
'92 15x6 spare tire/wheel 11 pounds lighter than 16x8 with 255/65/16
R/T 17x9 wheels are freaking heavy, but bulletproof
Club Cab adds 150 pounds, Quad Cab adds 400 pounds
2005 adds 500 pounds :funny:
