I have a 99 Dakota with a 3.9 L v6. So I drained my radiator. I was able to drain the damn thing with some difficulty even after spending some time reading here about the way the petcock works. Now I am unable to get it to close. The petcock turns but doesn’t go in any nor does drainage stop. I’m afraid I’ve screwed up something. Not even sure how to decide on a starting point to close the thing. The petcock is out about 3/8” but doesn’t change when I turn it. Any advice how to proceed is appreciated.

Never mind. Figured it out. The petcock on my truck, which is the original bears NO resemblance to the info in the chiltons manual nor dealer info.
