I have an 01 qc, it has the 5.9 motor.
I looked to see which rear end it has, it's the 9.25.
So, which gears does it come with?

I know I want to upgrade.
But I want it to benefit my future mods, which I will
be making in the next couple of months.

Im going to a big cam 408 stroker motor.
Our goal is 400 whp, and up to 450whp on nitrous.
That will be the max whp that will be on this truck.

As far as the weight of the truck, as stated,
its a quad cab, full interior, plus the baby seat, has ARE bed cover.
Tires are currently: Bridgestones P235 60R
Transmission is stock , but will be installing a valve body
with the build.
The truck is going to be driven on the street,
I only travel less than 5 miles a day.
But they just opened the 1/8 mile track,
and that is where I will be taking my truck too.
Not a 1/4 mile setup.
Rarely driven on highway.

As of right now, from a dead stop the truck won't
even spin the wheels, and it should be around 275-300 to the
wheels.
However before I swapped this motor into the qc, it would easily smoke
the tires in my r/t.

So, what do you think a good setup would be.

The common ratio's for the rear are 3.55 or 3.92 but you could get them with a 3.21 or even 4.10.

4.10's would help you off the line. There should be a tag on the differential.

Yeah, I was leaning toward the 4.10
But I also see members running 4.56, just not sure
if that will be to much losing traction with the 408.
anyone that has got a 408, I would appreciate some input
on the gears you run.

Since it looks like your build will help the upper end, 4.56's should get you off the line nice and quickly. Hooking it all up might be a problem, the *ss end is pretty light. 4.10's would probably be better for a daily driver situation however.

I'm stock with 3.92's and the 4.7. It will light them up but it's a club cab, 5 speed and the lsd.

I just bought the nitro 4.10 gear and master rebuild kit from
Just Differentials.

Will be installed Monday.
As long as I can get my freaking truck running......I adjusted all the passenger side roller rockers last night, and now it wont start.
Keeps backfiring through the Tb....Pretty sure I got it out of timing, or fuel sync... some how or another..So, crap.

I didn't move the distributor, but the crank bolt to turn the motor over.
Valves...
As soon as the exhuast valve began to compress the spring, then I adjusted the Intake valve and only used 1/4 turn to tighten.
As soon as the intake valve completely compressed and had risen back almost to the very top, I adjusted the exhaust valve 1/4 turn.

Same as I did when I originally put them on. Except I did about 1/2 to 3/4 turn back then.

I honestly think the same thing happened last time I installed the rockers, that it got out of sync.
It's went out of sync on me a few times during random adjusting of other parts under the hood. Crazy....and I hate it.
Even if the rockers weren't adjusted right it should still turn over and just chatter or pop..but it won't even crank over, just a
loud Tb backfire.

Valves too tight, there is at least one intake valve not closing, when it fires it is coming up the intake.
Assuming the plug wires aren't crossed.

all of the above.
Somehow, like I mentioned it did come out of sync.
But maybe it was because the valve problem, I found one pushrod that
didn't seat into the lifter...
I may fix it tonight. Kinda tired.
Crap wears me out having to stay bent over the fender for so long...need a break, Thanks for the help though.
