Just got an 08 Dakota a couple weeks ago and I was at a junkyard today that actually has another 08' on the lot and realized it has the alpine audio package. I'm thinking about going back to get the interior door panels off of it since they have the high mount tweeters in them and was wondering if anyone knows if the differences between the alpine and regular audio start in the dash, or if the speaker wire goes into the door and then to a crossover that splits the audio between the regular door speaker and the tweeter up by the side mirror. Also, I saw it briefly mentioned in another post, or maybe on another forum that the alpine setup came with 9 speakers and an amp? If that's true, where are the rest located? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've been reading through these forums for years since my last truck was an 02 durango, but this is the first time I've had difficulty finding the right info.

I would start with the service manual. You can download the '05 manual here: Free, Immediate 2005 Dakota FSM and Dodge Build Sheet, and more... - DodgeForum.com

Crutchfield might also be able to help.
Thanks for the reply. I did get some info from crutchfield actually, but not the whole picture. I ended up going back to the junkyard and realized strangely enough that the one on the lot had the alpine tweeters in the front door sails, and a Chrysler amp, not an Alpine one, behind the passenger kick panel, and no other traces of alpine in the car. No tweeters on the rear door, and the main door speakers were all unbranded, so idk if it was some strange in-between package that went unadvertised, but I ended up grabbing the front door panels since they had the alpine tweeters that I can try to connect later if I decided to, and the junkyard only charged like $15-16 for each panel. That little Chrysler amp also seemed to have a bunch of proprietary connector clips rather than typical speaker wire connections, so that also played a role in my decision not to go for it.
