I have a 99 Dodge Dakota 3.9 Does anyone know if the battery temperature sensor going bad will make the alternator not charge the battery

I've not had any personal experience with that sensor, but I would say that the answer would be "yes."

"The battery temp sensor provides the PCM with information on the battery temperature. The PCM uses this information to regulate the charging system voltage."

Thank you for getting back to me.turns out it was my voltage regulator in the pcm.that went bad . Now my gauges are all acting crazy but truck still seems to run okay
