So I started this project in March of 2011, and have been slowly picking away. Here is everything from the start until current.

Anyway, onto the photos.

Once i took ownership from my dad.

The day i packed her away

Current mileage

And the Specs:

3.9 V-6
5 spd, 2wd
114K miles
Full interior, stereo, viper alarm

What I would like to do:

rebuilt 3.9 with some goodies,
new clutch
suicide doors, shaved handles
full air-ride
Matte black paint
18's
update the interior a little.

Some photos from my exploration into paint.

And her current status:

I haven't updated this in a while, here is how it's going.

Using a screwdriver to remove unwanted rubber body molding.

20 yr old pinstriping.

Where I left off.

Using this 3m plastic finger sanding wheel. It's awesome. Right down to bare metal like butter.

Well yesterday wasn't as productive as i wanted, but we still got a lot done. The cam and crankshaft are in. Went to do the pistons and found out the oiling rings i had were the wrong size. Ended the day a bit early, but it gave me time to pull my intake manifold apart. and thankfully i did, as i found out my plenum gasket had **** the bed, and that was how oil was getting burned. I also played with the glass bead cabinet again and blasted my thermostat and water pump cover in prep for paint!

And i have changed my mind a bit more. My block is powdercoated, and its in good shape, so im gonna leave it black. The valve covers are gonna get a coat of black, with green fins, and the water pump cover and the oil pan are getting the green.

here are some pics, didn't get a lot.

I did things.

You know its a worthwhile project when the frame still has the original coating on it and it cleans up real nice.

I need to move this.

Painted some stuff yesterday! Need to finish the valve covers.

Finished one valve cover, needs to be touched up a bit. what are peoples' opinions? the block and heads are gonna be black, and the headers and air cleaner will be chrome.

And some other parts, new 180 thermostat, new belly pan gasket, and an injector rebuild kit.

Well, I was productive, but had to make some changes. The intake mod will not be happening, due to differences in casting vs the instructions. Mine has a cast wall down the middle, which will hinder my cutting. So instead, I rebuilt my injectors (terrifying and hoping i didn't break them) and painted the intake manifold.

Old on top, new on bottom

No idea where these went, so they didn't get put in.

Old stuff

painted manifold

Put the manifold all back together.

And got this.

That was stupid fast turnaround! way to go MMW!

Since I got stuff, I felt the need to work on the truck. rear suspension is now officially gone, but she needs all new brake lines, and i had to cut the parking brake line since it wouldnt let go :( Might just say f-this and do the grand cherokee rear disc setup...
