I had this exact problem on my '02 Dak, fixing the contacts is pretty straightforward especially with the help of the videos available. It drove my wife crazy because she could never get my truck started, and of course since it's an intermittent problem it never happened to me lol.
Problem with your Denso starter?
The Denso starter is very reliable. If yours is acting up (clicking) it may be the contacts are worn out and need replacing because the plunger can no longer make contact. No need to buy another starter when you can fix it yourself for under $10 in parts.
