Okay, I have one bad fender on the truck and figured it'd be cheaper to get a rust free fender and have it painted rather than fix the rot on the one I have. So how much should I look at spending if I walk into a shop with a fender in hand and say "glossy black please"

Just trying to keep from getting bent on spending to much.

I'm in New England if that matters.

I can't help with the price side of it but what I can offer is that depending on the year your truck the paint has faded and by them painting it "glossy black please" you will end up with a really nice black fender compared to your older black paint that's on it now. We have a paint shop here in Virginia Beach that has a type of camera that they take a couple pictures of the " paint " on the vehicle and then feed that information in to the computer and it then tells you the color of the paint that it is now. ( the faded color)
I just put fender flares on my wife's 1998 durango, when I went to the paint shop and they took the pics. the color came back as a type of Volvo black, I then went to the Volvo dealer with the paint code , ordered a couple cans of rattle can, the paint matched almost perfect.... just my 2 cents....good luck

Good point, I don't want a fender to outshine the rest of the truck. Maybe I'll check that out. Maybe a Maaco paint job over the whole truck is an option.
