Most of you know me from my old truck..A custom built R/T..Good from afar but far from good..Truck was dismantled, and thrown to a wrecking yard..

So heres the new rig..1995 GenII Dakota 2wd..

Just want to clarify yes my truck is ugly..With us its function over fashion first..Not just going for the look!

So lets get started..First off he hacked off the front end, cut the frame and replated it..And on went a set of ibeams off of a 1979 F150 5lug..Beams were extended 4" per side..After being in the scene you get over wanting the gnar factor of hugely extended parts haha..

Next went the rear end..Bye bye Dodge rear end!! On went a 8.8 w/4:11s off of a 1980s Bronco..

Picked up the front fiberglass for it, soon to be mounted..Took the bed off and pulled the bedside 4.5"s per side..Had to cut them as well..I have a retarded gap in between the cab and bed now but who cares, at least it covers the tires..

Next went on 35" BFGs on 15" Centerlines..Picked up some 12" Fox coilovers for the front end..Threw on some old longer Bilsteins I had laying around for the rearend..

Need to get a custom driveshaft made, coilovers mounted and then the re-teardown to finish welding and painting all parts..

The plan after that: Drive it like I stole it for a few months, pick up a single or ext cab R/T and finish the work on my GenII..

Future plans include cutting the roof and installing a full bumper to interior cage, basic bedcage w.under the bed 4link so I have the bed useage..Then bondo work on passenger side and paint..

The DD R/T will get a good amount of work as well after the GenII is finished..

Heres a pic or two:

when the beams went on >

the re-tear down to work on other shiz >

and for some fun heres my play toy for now:

sucks but freakin cool youll own the mold and all.
gonna be BA when its done!
hate to hear about the wreck though.
any progress, elsewise on the truck?
no progress otherwise..

and I decided against the rear fiberglass..my goal was to keep this truck simple with useability for everything I need..and on a budget..

bought a new bed, doors, front bumper, grille and light bezels..also got new glass minus the front windsheild..mine are all scratched up..

we'll pull the bedsides, but do a cleaner job this time..

bought some new tires too..but need 17" rims now so I can put them on the truck..

Updates:

Nothing crazy..

Painted the rims:

Got a new back window in..Old one was a slider (hate sliders) that was stuccoed shut..Middle piece broke while driving so had a reason to replace..Not perfct (scratch) but way better..

Bought a stock grille and light bezels..My uncle and I worked on it all day (well he did but I helped lol) and heres what it looks like now:

by all means NOT finished..you'll have to wait and see the end result, it'll be sweet..

No huge updates..

To come by October (we have a huge group going out for the first of the season):

1. Steering - single swing
2. New motor - 5.9l going in
3. Gears - 4:56s
4. New bed - Pulled bedsides (going to go a different route and have the end result have as little a gap as possible)
Awesome.
Single swing steering? Can you go into a little more detail?
It might be a little far off but what are you doing for seats?

I wouldn't expect less than a 5pt harness, seats these days are a little pricey tho.

I put a set of cloth Corbeau moab seats in my Dak after I flooded it.
But in my RC im going to need something UV resistant and water resistant... I shoulda never sold the roof.

No 5pts or thought of seats at this moment..Just getting the main things done for now as my Ranger (the actual play truck) is going into the shop right after the motor swap on this truck..That one I'l def. have seats and 5 pts..
Im a fan of the PRPs but we'll see whats left in the budget..
holy freaking long ass a arms!!!!
there was nothing great about my old rig.

Updates:

more body damage. we didnt win against a battle. we did drive home tho!

Im moving to Indiana at the end of the month, the truck is staying in CA. Ill be replacing the doors and shattered windshield before I leave.
Ill post updates as the truck will get work on while Im gone, so its finished when I come back.

What's up old timer. Good to see you still with the Dak chica. Dakota for life :mullet:
What are your plans for it from here?
Thanks Spawn, ya this wife isnt going anywhere! I love her more than the last one by far.

WRX, at the moment new radius arms, single swing steering, replacing the coil bucket/spring setup with a coilover setup, engine cage and beefing up the beams a bit more. So mainly all front suspension stuff.
Body wise Id like to get a cowl hood on her and primered one color, white.
