98 Durango SLT Install

I still need to fiberglass my subs into the rear panels at some point when I feel brave enough to try it. I have a temp box for them right now. Gonna carpet the amps mount eventually too.

Rears:

Temp Sub box (a buddy gave it to me, was an experiment of his, sounds good though)

I thought that I'd drop a few photos on this thread. Keep in mind that I was trying to do this head unit install only during my lunch breaks at work, so it didn't turn out perfect, but still looks good unless you know what you're looking at. I installed an aftermarket double-din DVD/NAV unit that is designed to fit into the '04-'07 Toyota's. I was tired of the flip out screen, and I had installed on in my wifes highlander.

At night while listining to Slacker Radio

I also built a custom center consol that holds a Kicker L5 10" sub. If you look at the dash, you can see the gain controll for the sub (and the iPod cable). I run a Kicker 750.5 amp, 6.5" MB Quart components in my front doors and 6.5" Diamond Audio in my rear doors. Amp is secured to the rear wall behind the seats.

Got any design blue prints for your sub box? I really want to get a sub in my QC with out having to fuss with the back seats. And the factory cup holders piss me off.

How I installed two 10s under the rear seat in my 2007 QC

I have a 2007 4.7L H.O. Quad Cab that I wanted to put some subs into. I bought these 2 Boston G10s from my buddy and to power it I got a Psyclone 1000W 2 Channel Amplifier. What sold me on this amp were the high level inputs and the remote level control knob. I bought a stainless steel cooking pan to gain more air space and then sunk it into the floor under the seat on the passenger's side. Then Dynamat was placed onto the floor of the box area and 3/4" MDF made up the top and sides. It was all glued down and a few 90 degree brackets were attached to hold it all in place. Lots of silicone was used to seal both the pan and the MDF to the floor. I ran the input wires from the rear door speaker wires before were they passed through the door jam. I ran the bass knob to above the cup holders near my right knee.

I am really happy with how it turned out and it sounds great and when my 2 boys are not in the back seat I can reach behind me and flip up that seat if I want. The sound was a bit muffled so I placed 2 2" tall pieces of aluminum that I had laying around from a dirt bike's rear wheel. That KTM is long gone but these extra parts stayed behind and work good until I can come up with a better solution that be be more permanent.

Here is a video it finished. https://youtu.be/UjchWqUL9iM
