Is it just gear oil? 2000 4.7 45rfe 4x4 (not awd). I don't even know what transfer case I have actually haha...anyone know? nv233 or something like that? thanks for your help.

DEXTRON III automatic transmission fluid according to the manual. you should pick up a haynes manual

atf+4. i love the BG syncromesh stuff though. expensive but worth it.

DO NOT PUT REGULAR GEAR OIL IN THE T-CASE!!!

T-case doesn't care, service manual even says Dexron 3 or ATF +3.

Doesn't matter because all it does 99% of the time is lubricate the bearings as power is passing through to the rear wheels. Only that 1% of the time is it lubricating more than that, you've got a chain for the front wheels and gears for low. No clutches constantly grabbing new gears and such like the transmission does. As a matter of fact, the clutches are the only reason you have to worry about ATF type when refilling a transmission.

I can use AMSOil Universal Synthetic ATF in my transfer case right? How much will it take?

ATF+4 spec IS full synthetic, so not much gain, especially in the t-case.

I'd imagine it would work fine though
