i was looking at a set of nitto dune grapplers for my dak...anyone ever owened these tires and if so how did you like them? the tread pattern looks bad ass but i am not sure of performance
I loved them when they came out. But, seeing them in person on wide wheels, I'm not impressed. I now know why they just make metric sizes. Square wall A/T's.
I know two guys that have tried them, one had 305s on his Ram and the other ran 285s on his F-150. Neither set lasted longer then 20k mi, they wear REALLY quickly same as the other tire choices from Nitto. Have been told the Trail Grapplers are better, but haven't heard from anyone that owns them about that.
I looked into them after seeing a set on a co workers Ford. The tire wear wasn't all that great for him having only 10K on them. He also said they pretty much sucked on anything other than sand for decent grip, especially the snow! Granted where I live in NM we don't get a lot of snow, but it does happen and I'd rather have some decent snow/ice traction. I finally decided to bite the bullet and give a set of Definity/Cooper tires from Pep Boys a shot.
