got a 98 with 2.5. cold cranks just fine. drive it 2 blocks, smells like it overloads and goes dead. can recrank after it gets cold again. if i cold crank and let it idle without moving the truck it takes about 2.5 minutes and chokes out. changed fuel pump on a whim when i thought it was starving.
what is the possbilities???

Have you changed any of the sensors? Maybe IAC staying wide open causing it give more gas than needed.. could be a number of sensor issues.

changed nothing but the fuel pump...

When it does run, does it run like crap? it may have a fouled plug or need a complete tune up

The ignition coil could be going bad, several things.

No check engine light?
