Hey Joey Forrester,
I also have a 2002 Dakota Slt 4x4. Mine is only an extra cab, but almost the exact same.thing. mine has the 4.7.v8 and still runs well.
I do have a minor issue with the fan location selector between foot- cabin- and defrost. It does not seem really divert the air into the right locations.
Any ideas?

Yes sir mine does the same but on the passenger side under the dash you'll see your fan motor and right by that on the hard black plastic peace you'll see a white flat piece if you look closely you'll see its able to turn ill switch to vent or defrost or floor and then I turn that white piece upside down and for some reason then it'll switch I hope that helps
