So having my truck for a while I think I want to get it off the ground and have been researching that u can just crank the torsion bar to raise the suspension, would I need a new bar and keys an can it even go that high cause I’m looking for 3 inches minimum also looking for 31” tires and would like some recommendations for that too
Thanks in advance

Yes, you can crank the bars to achieve three inches of lift, without having to buy keys. But it's not recommended. Heres why. If you look at the front suspension you'll notice that there are two rubber bump stops on each side. One below each lower control arm and one above. These bump stops are designed to limit suspension travel. If you crank the bars to gain 3 inches of lift, the control arm will be resting against the upper bump stop. This will result in absolutely no suspension down travel and the ride will totally suck as the tires will have a greater tendency to lift off the ground when traveling over uneven terrain. You would be better off to crank the bars to a max of 2 or 2.5 inches so as to allow some suspension down travel. If you need more lift, your only other option is to incorporate a body lift. A 3 inch BL will allow 33"s to fit
