looks good man. thats actually what i kinda had envisioned for mine too. place for the cd changer, couple of cup holders, maybe a new spot for the floor shifter to come up through...(thinkin of yanking out my colume shifter for one on the floor),,,havent decided yet!

cant wait to see this done.. you going to paint it, or carpet the console?

Thought I'd post a pic of what mine looks like. This was in its final stage of install. I basically used MDF board for the sides and bottom and then fiberglassed the top. I got lazy and didn't want to take the time to sand the fiberglass so I just went and got red vinyl and a slab of stainless steel and called it a day.
