I'm thinking of getting one of the new Magnums. Has anyone seen a forum out for these or the 300C. Like to know if anyone has done some engine tinkering beforehand. Also has anyone tried some of the cheap tricks we do to the 4.7 and magnum v8 on the Hemi. You know plugs, moving IAT, etc. Thanks

The 5.7 hemi in the 300C and new Dodge Magnum are different then the one being used in the Rams. The car version is using the MDS system that shuts down some of the cylinders to help save fuel. One problem with the Hemi is that a speed density system is used for measuring air into the engine rather than air mass, so that cold air packages and such can throw the system off.

Some of the tricks used on the 5.9 or 4.7 engines cannot be used on the hemi. Good news is some after markets are ready with their high output coils and headers are now on the market. The hemi uses duel spark plugs with the coils mounted on each set of plugs. Installing a high output coil now means that you need to install 8 of them instead of just one.

Dodge is talking about doing away with their V10 and replacing it with a 6.1/383 hemi. That will be a wild ride if and when it happens.
