i FINALLY got around to paint my interior i got alot of things painted but what i need help is how do i take off the big part in front that touches the windshield. i have no idea how to take that, the part on the bottom where the lighter and turn on/off airbag thing are, and the part that covers the airbag. i was pulling on it but it seemed like there was a screw i just couldn't find it. please help. pictures would be a big help but just telling my dumbass EXACTLY where the screws are would help alot too. :help:

My '04 came apart really easy. There are I think 3 metal pin type pieces that hold the dash panel onto the dash. It does feel like they are screws, but are not. I also found that the Phoenix Imaging paage on here helped out a lot.
Part Removal Hope this helps. I will look at my dash this evening and see if I can find anything more on the top piece.

I know this is an older thread, but this covers my question exactly. How do I get the "cap" off to paint it? I've got almost all the screws out, including the ones that allow the dash to tilt forward, but my Chilton's is saying I have to drop the steering column, unplug everything, and it comes out as an assembly. Is this true, or am I being a dumbass? This is a '98 automatic BTW.
