so i forgot to snap some in progress pics as i was trying to get it finished and buttoned up before nightfall.

but after much shopping around i decided to go with some Quart 6.5 coax in the rear panels. which i may add that the Dakota was NOT my favorite vehicle to remove panels from.

and some Quart component 5.25 and twets for the doors.

and its sounds flipping phenomenal!!!! i went for as much factory look as i could which was really easy to do with the way the doors were designed but the tweeters did pose a small problem. they were much smaller than the factory infinity tweeter opening. i fabbed up some custom mounts using the old tweeters and some 5 minute epoxy so that the new tweets mount in the factory location and the infinity grill is still in place so that there is no odd looking gaps in the door. mounted the crossovers in the door with some zip ties holding it to the steel inner door area.

overall about a 2 hour job and you cant even tell there are after market speakers in the truck until you turn it on. :mullet:

ill get some install pics tomorrow in the daylight of how the tweeters are mounted if anyone wants to see for their own use.

highly recommend these speakers for anyone who wants amazing sound and is on a budget.

I'm running the 6.5" version of those same components in the doors of my Dak. I think they sound pretty good too. I had the same problem with the tweeters being too small so I used some small peices of aluminum to mount them.

Which Kenwood headunit do you have. I am also running a Kenwood eXceleon KDC-X693. I bypassed the factory amp though, as everything I had read told me it put out less power than the Kenwood headunits.
