On my ever intensive search to find the little trim pieces that go around the interior door handles. I stumbled across a "parts truck" yesterday...

It is a 95 regular cab shortbed, and it is the straightest GEN II I've seen. Every body panel on it is as straight as if it just rolled out of the show room floor. The interior mark III wood is perfect as well, with no weird peeling or rotting. The seat is leather, and it has a cool overhead console. The only fault wrong with the truck is the ground effect under the driver's door looks like it's been kicked a few times while getting in the truck...oh, and it doesn't have an engine either.

Anywho, I show up to get some parts off the truck. And the guy tells me I can't have the parts I want, because he just realized this is a "mark III" truck and he isn't going to part with anything on it, and will only sell the truck whole. He wants $500 for it all.

So I was just wondering...are the ugly-ass "mark III" deals worth a lot or something? I figured they were rare because they are ugly and nobody wanted them. But if I just stumbled on a goldmine, then I might have to snatch it up.

I have a 93 mark iii. I hated the wood grain and ground effects, they came off within a day or two of owning the truck. Rare and valuable don't always go hand in hand. I'd say they are semi rare and might be worth a bit more money to the right person, but a gold mind they are not. I bought mine running and driving for just a bit more than 500.

If you like the wood pieces, I have some for sale!

NO! I hate it too.

But like I said, I was just curious as to whether or not it was worth anything.

Thank you for responding though.

If you just wanted a roller it'd be worth it. Take the mark III off and sell it, then keep the roller for yourself. It's probably not a money make though.

During the begining of the street truck era Mark III and choo choo customs and Regency were big into cosmetic touches to ford dodge chevy. 500 for the whole thing isnt bad. Take what you want and then see it as a roller for 500. And IMO the Merk III was one of the lowest packages on the trucks.

Lowest....stance?

I don't know much about them, but I've been checking around. And the local "old man who knows everything" told me is was an option they brought out when the GMC Syclone/Typhoons were introduced. They had SEXY cladding (ground effects) and the Mark III option was an attempt to draw the attention of those who couldn't afford the 30K price tag of a Sy/Ty.

Not stance. quality. I not saying its bad stuff just the other kits i liked a lot better. I owned a 1994 chevy choo choo custom.

I would disagree with the syclone starting this fad. The syclone didnt hit the market until 1991 and the kits on trucks at dealers started in the late 80's. There were some s-10's at the local chevy dealer when i was about 15-16 cause i wanted one.

Does he have a clean title in hand?

I dont think $500 is bad..but I don't care for the Mark III stuff but you could probably part the truck out and get more or keep it and throw a motor in it and strip the crap off and have a nice straight truck.

There was the ranger GT back in '86, and in '88 there was a saleen ranger. There was also the sonoma gt, the syclone/typhoon, s10 Cameo, and others as well.

I think the difference was the syclones/typhoons were actually fast...

I still want a Sy or Ty.
They were pretty bad @ss indeed.

I would like to have any of the trucks I listed. I like the little domestic trucks from the late 80's and early 90's. I like some of the import cars, but I never cared much for the import trucks.

Are you still selling the wood grain pieces? Because I would take them off your hands if possible.
