This is Arlo. He's a year and 7 months. Purebred German Shepherd coming in just over 100lbs and a HUGE cry baby, but one hell of a guard dog I've found on a few situations...

Last summer when he was just a bit smaller.. This was back in April/May of last year (2010)

Beautiful Shepherd mine is 20 months 2 days ago, Yes my wife says he only starts whining when I get home, but with other people he is very different, I was tolod when we went to Training as a pup that I have one of the biggest whiners, that's okay he is my baby :)

German Shepherd love!

Here is my purebred Shepherd, Breanne. Not my choice of a name for a dog but she was already named when I got her.

Her first ride in the Durango.

After a little bit of growing..

Her best friend... Jack. A 2 year old Golden Retriever that is a licensed medical service dog.

Holiday spirit Shepherd..

My girl Meeka

Meeka and Buddy (my grandpa's dog)

Meeka and Jack Jack (girlfriends full bred black and tan dachshund akc reg.)

Meeka is a german shepherd/Staffordshire mix. She was at a dog expo in a rescue booth. She wouldn't leave me alone, I ended up taking her home even though I didn't plan on leaving with another dog. She is the best dog I've ever had.

I find that hard to believe. A dog simply growling at you doesn't trigger ANY law vicious dog laws. You have to get bit in order to petition a court to order someone else's dog destroyed.

Welcome to the socialist state of California. My room mates wife reported him as a viscious dog that tried to bite her 3 year old. Should have read your entire post. The dog was a "house dog" belonged to everyone in the house.
Once again, 'tried to bite' is not a valid reason to declare a dog vicious - or even 'potentially dangerous'. According to California code:

31602. 'Potentially dangerous dog' means any of the following:

(a) Any dog which, when unprovoked, ontwo separate occasions within the prior 36-month period, engages in any behavior that requires a defensive action by any person to prevent bodily injury when the person and the dog are off the property of the owner or keeper of the dog.

(b) Any dog which, when unprovoked, bites a person causing a less severe injury than as defined in Section 31604.

Any dog which, when unprovoked, on two separate occasions within the prior 36-month period, has killed, seriously bitten, inflicted injury, or otherwise caused injury attacking a domestic animal off the property of the owner or keeper of the dog.

31603. 'Vicious dog, means any of the following:

(a) Any dog seized under Section 599aa of the Penal Code and upon the sustaining of a conviction of the owner or keeper under subdivision (a) of Section 597.5 of the Penal Code.

(b) Any dog which, when unprovoked, in an aggressive manner, inflicts severe injury on or kills a human being.

(c) Any dog previously determined to be and currently listed as a potentially dangerous dog which, after its owner or keeper has been notified of this determination, continues the behavior described in Section 31602 or is maintained in violation of Section 31641, 31642, or 31643.
So that means there needs to be at least TWO documented acts, and the acts need to be UNPROVOKED (a child jumping on a sleeping dog is considered provocation). Like I said, simply growling at someone or 'trying to bite' is not a vicious act. You need to get bit in order to have ground for legal action to have the dog destroyed.

And even then, it's not an automatic death warrant.

So what aren't you telling us?
