First off let me say hello to everyone. I’m new here and looking forward to sharing information about QC Dakota’s.
I ran into a problem on mine that is baffling. I have an 04 QC with a 4.7 4WD. The dash light bulbs started going out one by one so when the last one went out and I couldn’t see how much gas was in the tank I decided to replace them. Easy task you would think. I replaced all the bulbs and put everything together only to find my headlights would not come on without the engine running. They come on when the engine is started no matter the position of the headlight switch. My high beams will come on only for a couple of seconds and then return to low beams automatically and my driving lights will no longer come on. Has anyone else ever had this problem? Does anyone have a good solution to fix this problem? The only thing I done as far as headlights go during the bulb replacement was unplug the headlight switch but it only plugs in one way. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I looked in the '03 FSM (I believe 00 through 04 are similar) & the Central Timer Module (CTM) does control "low and high beam head lamps" and "courtesy lamps." By "driving lights", are you referring to courtesy lamps? However, I do not see your instrument cluster lamps listed under what is controlled by the CTM.

I do not know how you would test the CTM, but the book says that it is "located behind the left side kick panel. It contains 26-way, 16-way and 12 way connectors." If you do think that maybe you want to try throwing this part at it, what I have read on another site is to make sure you order the same part number and that they are often available on ebay.

But I am not saying that the CTM is for sure your problem.

Could also have an issue with the multifunction switch in the steering column, as that controls your high beams as well.
But, this many lighting issues after just a bulb swap in the instrument cluster shouldn't have caused these other issues to just pop. OP, you need to start looking into the wiring and then any grounds that may be loose or corroded.
