i`m thinking you mean helper springs.
as in the last "lil" spring. that might give you half an inch. it`s worth a try. lord knows i`ve messed with my springs enough to know,lol.
the springs are a good 1/4" thick a piece, sure worth a try.
if not then i reccomend trying some r/t leafs to see how ya like em. they are not as curved as the stock c/c , q/c springs thus dropping it a lil.

Yeah don't take leaf's out, it is not the best idea. I hae seen guy take out all but the main leaf. It lower the truck, but is is not that safe and then you have no payload rateing at all.
