Hey there. Ive been looking to purchase some new springs for my '98 Durango (5.9l 4wd) as mine are completely clapped. I've looked at a few and found some inconsistency between the weight capacity. I've found ones for 2250lbs and 1800lbs part numbers 34-1405HD and 34-1405 respectively.

Does anyone know the OEM part number or, the OEM weight capacity for these?

I would look at weight caps in your fsm or maybe even your owners manual If it were me I would go with the HD (heavy duty)

I got the 6 leaf 2250s for my 01 about a year ago. original was 5 leaf.

Who did you get them from if you don't mind me asking? I bought add-a-leaf for mine. I might just go with newer ones along with the add-a-leafs also. Thanks

I forget the name of the company they were out of PA. I have also dealt with GeneralKC Spring before and had good results on other vehicles.

How did you find those rode compared to the stock leafs? i like the idea of the stiffer leafs as the rear really sags, and with all the stuff I have in the back I think it would even out

Try ATS Springs in PA for replacement leaf springs and other replacement hardware. They sell both the 5 leaf standard springs (1800 lbs) and the 6 leaf heavy duty springs (2400 lbs). I bought my leaf springs from them about one year ago and they had by far the best prices and are well made. Service was good also.

I bought the standard springs because at the time I was a short on cash and also don’t tow much with my Durango. The springs went on easy and have worked out fine, but I would buy the HD springs if I could do over again. I don’t think the difference in ride quality would be noticeable, particularly with a loaded vehicle, as it is just one added spring.

I was under mine for oil change time the other day, mine did come from ATS. Saw the sticker on the shackle.i couldn't remember where I'd gotten them from. And they are the 6 leaf HD ones.
