Krc "rv" Cam

KRC Performance has a cam grind they call "RV". 200/206 480/480 lift on 112 with 1.6 RR. I have a set of Harland Sharp 1.7 RR on my stock 5.2L. What would happen if the 1.7 RR was used with this RV cam. Would it improve or hurt the performance of this cam.

The lift would become .510 with no harm to the cams performance.
Would it improve it? How about the idle, more lopey?
Certainly more lift is good. With the 112 LSA with that duration, there will be a minimal lope, not choppy.
i couldn't find it on there website.the only cam close was the 206 cam.

The 1.7 ratio has a quicker ramp-up speed than the 1.6. I doubt you'd hear a difference in the sound of the engine though.

Yeah I'm thinking it's the 206 cam. Same specs but not totally sure.
I don't beleive KRC has it listed on their web site. I found it while I was reading through the old posts. Bill, I think from KRC, had Comp Cams grind it and he put it in his Durango to try it out. With the pretty much stock (I don't remember all that was changed prior to this cam install, headers and R/T heads was) Durango, it made great torque and was very streetable.

I'm looking for a rebuild that I can run in our bi-annually mud race. The track (actually a trail) is about 1/8 mile long, with alot of mud/water pits, moguls,turns, and straight-a-ways. So alot of on/off the gas racing. Thought maybe this cam with the low rpm torque and higher rpm range would be a good fit.

Any other suggestions on a better cam? Thanks Ricker
if your rebuilding the engine because it needs refreshing,then i think its a GREAT cam choice,i'm planning on using it in my rebuild (if i can't locate an R/T+10 cam) this coming fall.if you just looking to swap cams only,then don't waste your time.

Nice little cam on ebay, crower 208/214 .502/.502 114lsa. 20 bucks right now with no reserve. I don't know how to give you the link but the title reads cam magnum 360 dakota R/T
is there room for that lift on a 318? how big can you get away with?

I put the e-bay camin my watch page. The rust doesn't seem to bad, I think it would clean up. If I was going to sell a cam on e-bay I would at least make an attempt to try and clean it up, especially if the effort was taken of having it checked out by a local machine shop. Plus no cam card, not the end of the world for that price, I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks for the heads up. Alot of people have been pushing me toward the KRC 206x 206/210dur. 480/512lift 108. A friend said this cam should do everything I want plus have the lopey idle I was looking for. I'll keep ya posted on decision. Thanks again Ricker
its really nice of you guys on this website to look after each other with ebay deals and such.unfortuntatly,this is just a bit to big for me,as i'm going to retain my 1.7 rockers and want to keep gross lift under .510-.520.

why ? you're not going to have any piston/valve issues at that lift.
Ive read that .535 is as far as you can lift with out needing more relief machined in the pistons.

is that for the 318 or 360? I thought I read on here that the 318 pistons have no relief in them and the 360's do.
does the 210x cam effect gas milage ?
That's the valve relief on a stock 360 piston, my new cam ill be putting in with the 1.7s will be around .561/.569 and i shouldn't have any valve to piston clearance issues, im also going to use .620lift springs for a better seat pressure.

I don't think .535 is the max...

rv cam description makes me laugh.
There are no SBM powered RVs other than a gay class B.

I'd be interested to know the duration on your cam. I also have a 360 with a fair bit of lift on the cam. I checked with clay and piston to valve was close but I thought it looked OK. However, I haven't run it yet so it's not a done deal yet.

In my case I have only .512/.512 lift (with 1.6 rockers) but I also decked the block 40 thou and used a .027 gasket, so my net equivalent is:

.512 + .040 + (.040 - .027) = .565

cam duration is 227/234 @ 50

I have the same springs as you.
