As the title says, I am in the beginning stages of doing the long over due hemi swap. I found a great deal on an 07 6.1 with 76,000 miles on it out of a SRT Jeep Grand Cherokee. All accessories included for $1500. I just have to get a few things in order and will be getting the engine in a couple of weeks. I have an 03 CC 2wd 4.7 5 speed Dakota sport. So it should be a fairly easy swap from what i have read. But my question is do any of you guys know which PCM would be best to run? A 05 PCM or have my 4.7 PCM reprogrammed to run it, or the 07 PCM that the guy has with the motor. Also should I get the harness with that engine or will Any harness for a hemi work?
Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

What's your intentions after you do the swap? Are you planning on leaving it alone, or all out racing it and adding more aftermarket parts to it. This will determine which way I'd suggest going. Are you good with electrical and wiring diagrams?

Dakota J thanks for the response.

I'm going to maybe do a tune for now. I'm not planning on a race setup but more along the lines of a show truck. The wires don't really scare me. I have been doing lots of research and have began the long process of drawing and printing out the diagrams. I have a degree in drafting so I have a good bit of experience with reading and drawing electrical diagrams. Also I have been a mechanic for 17 years, with exp. on a little bit of everything. I will say that I'm not ashamed to ask for help so any advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

Ok guys possibility of this swap being a 6.4 instead, but with that being said I have a question the 6.4 is an 09 model so I know I would have to change the reluctor wheel. So after that could I put a cam phaser lock on it and make it work? I have been reading some other forums and I know this will delete the vvt, but can it be ran with a 05 pcm?
