Alright, I made the plunge. Today I finalized the deal on a 2006 assembly line Hemi with 0 miles, comes complete with everything but accessories and cats. That means wiring harness, plugs, plug wires, coils, all covers, AC/ALT bracket, intake, TB, (not using it, using MP cable)

It should be delivered by next Friday, I'll get some pics then. I'm so excited lol.

Sadly, the project won't start right away. I have the wife disease so I need to.. earn.. stuff... but it should go something like this: 4.7/5.7 harness splice, Mopar cable TB, Cam, 6.1l rods/springs/chain, headers, SCT

anyways, stay tuned guys.

I have had mine since last summer,it has been tarped up in the back of my truck untill last Saturday, now it sits on my engine stand all torn down.
New cam, timing chain, ported heads and custom oil pan, then comes paint just before it gets dropped in .

I'm hoping I won't have much to do to my oil pan since I'm 2wd. I might just modify my cross member cause it seems easier (at this point).

Which engine paint are you gonig to use?

I don't know about yours but I modified my pan and It's on a 2WD. I felt less comfortable modifying a structural element such as the cross-member.
Good luck with the build.

I will have to go look,we just built a stroker for an 09 Ram and the owner brought hemi orange paint he got from Napa,it covered well.
Mine will also be hemi orange, intake to pan.
I think I'm going to try this Por15 stuff, it's a brush-on that is supposed to leave no stroke marks at all. Comes in tons of colors.

I'm hoping I won't even have to touch it. Looking at our two front ends, there are a lot of differences, my main beam runs just under the crank pulley, there's another much thinner cross member that runs behind the motor about even with the drain plug. I am comfortable with modding that one, the front one looks like it has plenty of clearance, and I won't modify that one due to safety reasons.

A zero mile hemi? Nice find!
Yea they are out there, pricey though. This one was the cheapest I found and
there's no core charge. Next day after I bought it, it was $100 less too lol.

I think its worth it for brand new. Sets me back in progress though since I will have to wait for some dough to roll in.

Wow that will be awesome when it's finished, hope to be able to chat with you more at dyno day. If you need any help when you start you know where to find me.
Yea we'll definitely talk at dyno day, and thanks for the offer. I'm sure I will have a few questions.

you should check around you may not need to do anything since yours in newer than most of the hemi's gettin dropped in
It looks like the drivers side mount will bolt right up... the passenger side doesn't have the same taps but I don't think it will take much to modify the mount.. crossing my fingers.

Boy that looks nice
yea but it's hard to paint lol. too much stuff in the way.

Ditto man, I feel the same way. With my classes starting next week, I won't be making much progress but maybe tinkering with the motor a bit. I hope to be able to do the swap in 3 months during my next break. Time is easier to come by with just work in the way, but school and work makes things difficult.
