I had the same problem with some of you, how to install a Double Din with the vents in the way? I wanted to do an easy install with minimal modifications....After researching, I surrendered to a Single Din unit "Boss BV8962 In-Dash 7-Inch DVD/MP3/CD Widescreen Receiver with USB, SD Card, and Front Panel AUX Input" paid $119.99 on Amazon.com :woot:
The hardest part of the install was connecting all the wires to the adapter.

Tax time is almost here and I am going to buy a double din stereo for my durango and I was wondering has anyone done this with the wood grain... I was planning on modifying the single din dash kit to fill in the half moons but I saw a picture of one that was done like that and it had gaps in it from where the single din trim was supposed to go... I would really like to make it look nice. also how big is the stock opening and do they make any 1.5 dins with a screen

Yes you have options. There is a thread here that someone has pictures of modified dash bezels one of which is the wood grain the guy makes and sells them. They accommodate the double din. In terms of the 1.5 din I believe that you can get one where the screen flips up.

I would love to pick one of these up. My search function does not work on my Note. Do you happen to have a link to the thread where hey are making and selling them?

How did you get it for $125? The site says 300... Id pay $125 too. Do you have to send yours to them?
300 seems high for a simple dash bezel mod.. Considering all the stuff I had hydrographiced at the same time for just over 200, seems kinda pricey for #15 of epoxy and 2 hours of your time.

Nice job BTW to the origional poster. :clap2:

Jason I remember your install. I honestly don't think I'd install one in my current truck because I really don't have room for people in the cab part to enjoy it with me for movies etc... If I go quad cab I'd do it.
