2001 durango v8 had 6 codes used your site , changed parts that were bad

car running great , spent $98.00 dollars on parts , did the work myself

I have a '99 Durango,5.9, 4X4. I recently have incurred a "no bus" displayed in the odometer space. The engine fails to start, the odometer flashes 4 times, then the no bus comes up, the fuel guage also fails to function. On occasion after a short period with the switch on there will be a "ding", the fuel gauge rises and the truck will start and run for a period. the check engine light does come on, but an OBD check reveals no codes.

Hi all - so my 2003 Durango was putting up a P0440 and P0456 code with a CEL. I was able to reset both and clear the CEL with my Harbor Freight code reader:

It was about 90 bucks and they always give coupons. Hopefully the CEL will stay cleared. Thanks to the OP for putting up this thread

If it's not working on an 04 then you're doing it wrong. Starting at OFF (unlock), you go ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON (landing at on, never cranking). 97, 98, and SOME 99s are the only years it doesn't work.

Is there a way to get the dash display to show the ready status after doing the repairs and a reset or does it require a scan tool?

Immediately after the reset a read shows PDone, i.e. no codes, but how do I tell if it has been driven enough to get a positive ready status?

so on in my 97 if i hold the trip meter down and then turn it to the on position and keep holding it displays check and then it gave me 950 and 999, if these arnt engine codes what the hell are they?

What was the fix?
